Curegen Screening

What is Curegen Screening?

Curegen is a precision pharmacogenomics screening that helps to assess your response to certain medications, across a range of diseases. Curegen checks for metabolism of up to 80 drugs/drug classes in 16 genes.

Pharmacogenomics: The science of how genes (DNA) affect a person’s response to drugs.

Why Curegen is important?

We often hear people say that a particular drug does not work too well for them, or that the drug had no effect. Similarly, it is common to hear of adverse effects of drugs on some individuals. This is now explained by science – how individuals process or respond to different drugs differently.

What Curegen can tell you:

  • Whether a medication can be effective for you.
  • Whether you need different doses than average.
  • Whether you are at risk for serious side effects due to altered metabolism of the medication.

Who should take the Curegen Screening?

  • Anyone with known adverse drug reaction(s) due to medications in the past, or there is family history of the same.
  • Anyone who feels their treatment (involving one or more of our covered drugs) is not helping them.
  • Patients who are on multiple medications.
  • Elderly patients taking or starting certain specific medications like blood thinners, opioids, phenytoin, etc.
  • Any health-conscious individual above 18 years, who may be interested in testing pro-actively and keeping the report handy for the future.
